Frequently Asked Questions

DO YOU CHARGE FOR AN INITIAL VISIT?
There is no charge for your examination. At this time, Dr. Newhart will examine you and inform you if treatment is indicated. Dr. Newhart and a treatment coordinator will discuss your treatment plan and financial options.

DO YOU HAVE SATURDAY OR EVENING HOURS?
Yes, we offer a variety of flexible appointment times to accommodate the busy schedules of our patients. Throughout the year we offer early morning and early evening appointments.

HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO WEAR BRACES?

HOW OFTEN WILL I HAVE TO COME TO THE OFFICE?
Generally, we see our active orthodontic patients every twelve weeks. Dr. Newhart's proprietary use of "Time-Release Archwires" allows more comfortable treatment, shorter treatment times and fewer office visits. Fewer office visits have the benefit of less lost time at school or work. This also allows many of our patients to live outside of California and the country.

SHOULD I CONTINUE TO SEE MY FAMILY DENTIST WHILE IN BRACES?
Definitely! It's very important to continue your regular dental check-ups to prevent and detect dental decay, and to monitor the health of the supporting structures.

HOW ARE INSTRUMENTS STERILIZED?
Our office provides the highest standards of sterilization and asepsis. We perform each procedure in a way that ensures the safety of patients and staff.

CAN I CHANGE LOCATIONS AFTER I BEGIN TREATMENT?
Yes. The five office locations are there by patient request and for patient convenience. People change jobs and children change schools. We always have a location near you and we always have your personal file with us because of our networked computer and telephone system. Dr. Newhart has access to every patient's file at every location at any time...24/7.
