What is Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction?

Proper function of the jaw relies on the health of facial muscles, bone, nerves, ligaments and the jaw joints. Problems in any of these areas can be a source of considerable discomfort and dysfunction.

What are some Symptoms of TMJ Dysfunction:

  • pain or aching around the ears, cheeks, temples or face.
  • locking, popping, or grinding noises in the jaw joint during movement.
  • restriction of normal opening and jaw movement, tightness of the jaw.
  • headaches or facial pain.
  • inability to open or close the jaw without pain.
